NEARLY THREE DECADES BEHIND THE CAMERA
Hi, I’m Sophie.
Photography has been part of my life for almost 30 years, and somehow I still get the same buzz from creating a photograph I love as I did when I first started.
A lot has changed since then, cameras, trends, technology and probably quite a few hairstyles, but the thing that keeps me interested hasn’t.
I love people, I notice the little things, and I’m endlessly curious about the stories happening in front of me.
What I love most about photography has always been the people. The conversations, the personalities, the little moments you could never plan — and the trust that comes from being invited into someone’s world for a while.
Some clients come to me once for a particular moment; others I’ve photographed through different chapters of their lives. I’ve watched families grow, businesses evolve and people become more confident in front of my camera.
That connection is a huge part of why I still love what I do.

A CAREER BUILT AROUND PEOPLE
From Editorial to Everyday Life
My career has never followed just one photographic path — and I wouldn’t have wanted it to.
I’ve worked across editorial, television, portraiture, commercial campaigns, events, weddings and family photography, with my work commissioned and featured by recognised publications, broadcasters and organisations.
That experience has taught me how to walk into almost any situation, quickly understand the people in front of me and find the story worth photographing.
Whether I’m working on a commercial production, photographing a wedding with hundreds of guests or trying to make a three-year-old laugh in my studio, the instinct is essentially the same:
watch, connect, anticipate — and know when to press the shutter.
